This crazy good guitar player shows something we have not seen or at least publicly heard before. He can sing! When I first listened to the tunes on this new album, I was immediately reminded of other Bluegrass Guitar greats who became known for not only their special touch on the guitar, but how well they delivered vocally. I think of Tony Rice, Dan Crary, but especially of Norman Blake and Doc Watson. Listen to “That’s Where I Belong” and see if you don’t agree. Some high profile pickers of course helping out, like Noam Pikelny and Rob McCoury on banjo, Jason Carter, Stuart Duncan and Luke Bulla on fiddle, Ronnie McCoury and Sam Bush on mandolin, with Greg Garrison, Alan Bartram and Dennis Crouch on bass. It’s worth it, get it, you’ll like it.
