Volume Five is a band on the move. They have added a 4th product to their line of solid bluegrass albums on Mountain Fever Records. The latest is called “The Day We Learn to Fly” and seems to be a collection of new Gospel tunes without any of the worn out classics you sometimes find on a Gospel CD to just fill out the project. This is all good contemporary Bluegrass Gospel with purpose and drive. It’s difficult to pick out just a couple of tunes to recommend, but 2 that would definitely be on that list are the title song, “The Day We Learn To Fly” and the hard driving Gospel tune, “Get Down and Pray”. Volume Five has a crew with a lot of talent and experience including Glen Harrell- (fiddle & vocals), Patton Wages- (banjo, & vocals), Chris Williamson- (bass & vocals), Harry Clark- (mandolin & vocals), and Jeff Partin- (guitar & vocals). Give it a listen and get ready to tap your toe and be inspired.
